Sunshine Coast padel is finally here
Forest Glen has become the centre of the Sunshine Coast padel scene, with two indoor clubs and eleven courts between them. That is a meaningful change for local players who previously had to travel much farther to find a proper padel match. Both venues are welcoming beginners, but their personalities are different: ACE focuses on an energetic, approachable club environment, while Padelground combines padel with a full wellness and hospitality experience.
For players deciding where to book their first game, the choice is less about whether a court exists and more about location, coaching, social sessions and the kind of experience you want around the match.
Where to play padel on the Sunshine Coast
1. ACE Padel Clubs — Forest Glen
Shed 2, 5 Cedarbrook Drive, Forest Glen QLD 4556 · 4 indoor courts
ACE is a good starting point if you want padel to feel social and accessible rather than intimidating. The club presents itself as a place for newcomers as well as regular players, and combines its four indoor courts with a coffee and bar area, pro shop and kids' zone. Indoor play is a genuine advantage during humid or rainy Queensland weather.
What we like: Its focus on welcoming new players and providing amenities that make it easy to stay after a match. What to consider: ACE has fewer courts than Padelground, so check peak-hour availability and coaching times before committing to a regular slot. As a relatively new venue, there is not yet a deep independent review history we would rely on for detailed claims about service or value.
2. Padelground — Forest Glen
84 Sandalwood Lane, Forest Glen QLD 4556 · 7 indoor courts
Padelground takes a more ambitious, all-day approach. Beyond its seven indoor courts, the club offers coaching, organised social mixers, video-based match analysis and recovery facilities including a sauna and hot and cold plunge pools. The café and bar complete the idea of a place to spend time, not just rush in and out for an hour of doubles.
What we like: The combination of court capacity, coaching and socials makes it especially interesting if you don't already have three playing partners. What to consider: The wellness-club experience will appeal to some players more than others. If you're only after an occasional low-cost court booking, compare casual prices against the membership options before deciding. Seven courts do not guarantee a free slot at popular times.
ACE or Padelground: which should you choose?
Choose ACE if an approachable club atmosphere and straightforward indoor play are your priority. Choose Padelground if you are drawn to organised social matches, coaching, more court capacity and extra fitness or recovery facilities. Both are in Forest Glen, so trying each once is a sensible way to discover which one suits your schedule and playing level.
Before your first Sunshine Coast padel session
Padel is usually played as doubles, but you do not necessarily need to organise four players yourself. Ask about social mixers and beginner sessions if you're joining alone. Check current prices, racket hire and lesson availability on the clubs' booking platforms. For indoor facilities, weather is less likely to interfere with your plans, but high-demand evening slots can still fill up quickly.
New Sunshine Coast clubs to watch
The wider region is still growing. Padel Club House in Baringa is advertising an upcoming indoor club with three padel courts, but its own website currently says opening soon. Padelground has also announced a second planned site in Birtinya for a future opening. Neither is counted below as operational until confirmed.
